Now I know how Elvis felt…

June 23, 2008

I ate sooo much food this weekend. Had pizza for dinner twice on Friday (yes, you read that right) including a couple of slices at 2:30am. A full IHOP brunch on Saturday was followed by chips and guacamole and 1.5 plates of molten chocolate cake with ice cream 12 hours later. And today… dear God! A Mediterranean buffet brunch, small Jamba Juice, slice of cheesecake, then dinner (big veggie burger, slice of cornbread and some chips with queso).

I swear to God, I’m fasting for the next week, while gymming for two hours daily. Ugh…

I’m baaaaaaack!

Wow, this certainly has been a long break. In the interim, I’ve gotten married, gone on my honeymoon, moved to Chicago, and begun the process of relocation to Chapel Hill. I’ll try to keep this thing updated a little more frequently, especially since I’ll hopefully have more to write about once B-School starts. Let’s see how long it lasts this time. 🙂

Hurry hurry!

I’m just looking over my flight to Chicago in two weeks, specifically my return. Unfortunately, I only have 75 minutes to change flights. Virgin Atlantic arrives at 8:50am London time, and Jet Airways departs at 10:05am. Fortunately, both airlines operate from the same terminal, Terminal 3. However, according to the Heathrow guide, I need at least 60 minutes to catch a connecting flight in the same Terminal, because for some unknown idiotic reason, I need to go through the security check again, where they put my handbag through the conveyor belt and make me walk through the magnetic doorway. Dipshits.

Calling Orbitz now to find out they’re gonna take care of me if I miss my flight.

My new toy

Dad was in Shanghai for work last week, and on his way back through Singapore, he got me a new piece of electronic wizardry: the Philips Arcitec 1060 electric shaver. It looks pretty sleek, and I tried it for the first time this morning. It felt ok. I haven’t really used electric shavers much before, so I can’t comment on how it’s supposed to be. It seems to have gotten reasonably close to the skin. But it didn’t seem to contour itself around my face very well. Still, they claim it takes two to three weeks to get used to an electric shaver, so I’ll try it out. Plus, now I don’t have an excuse not to shave more often. 😛

$hit happens

You know how when you do a certain task many times on a regular basis, you stop paying attention after a while and do it by remote control? And just when you’re not expecting it, something happens to remind you that you should really pay attention?

That’s the thought that ran through my mind when I scraped my car against the pillar of our building, while pulling out of the parking lot. *sigh*

Old Me

That was me approximately a decade ago. I can’t think of any other comments to make.
