The more things change…

The 3rd one-day international cricket game is going on between India and South Africa right now, and it’s certainly been a rollercoaster ride for Indian fans, and not in a good way. The Indian team has this infuriating habit of getting rid of the top half of their opponents batting lineup before letting their foot off the pedal and allowing the other team to claw their way back, even put India at a disadvantage. To wit, today’s match. After 20 overs, South Africa had scored 76 runs, but lost six wickets. All the commentators said they’d do well to recover to 180-200, and would be happy with 220. By the time 50 overs had been completed, they had made 274 / 7. To make matters worse, India’s batting right now at 11 runs for 2 wickets after eight overs. The two batsmen gone are two of their heavy hitters, Sehwag and Sachin.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with cricket and have no idea what I’m talking about, India was doing really well, then they managed to fuck it all up with whipped cream on top. It’s not over yet, but it’s not looking good. Damn…
